This CNN Reporter Is About 3 Seconds Away From Passing Out Due To A Cicada.

A cicada joined a CNN reporter as he prepared for a live shot on Thursday.

The bug crept up Manu Raju's jacket, over his shoulder, and then behind his neck, going unnoticed at first. Raju felt the bug, threw it off his body, and let out a disgusted groan, along with a few four-letter words:

Earlier, I had an unwelcome visitor try to crawl into my live shot. pic.twitter.com/Pu68z0cWSN — Manu Raju (@mkraju) May 27, 2021

This year marks the reappearance of Brood X, which appears every 17 years in parts of the Midwest, Southeast, and mid-Atlantic states.

“Despite their menacing appearance, these bugs with black bodies, striking red eyes, and orange-veined wings are not considered pests,” according to the National Centers for Environmental Information.

Tell that to people who have them crawling up their necks.
