Foster Friess, A Well-known Republican Donor, Died At The Age Of 81.

Foster Friess, a wealthy Republican donor, died on Thursday, aged 81.

Friess was a philanthropist and the founder of the mutual fund manager Friess Associates. He identified as a born-again Christian.

Freiss, a Wyoming resident, was a major donor to Rick Santorum's presidential campaign in 2012, contributing more than $2 million to the Red, White, and Blue Fund, a super PAC that supported the former Pennsylvania senator in the Republican primary.

During the Santorum campaign, Friess sparked outrage by joking about contraception, claiming that “back in my day... gals put [Bayer aspirin] between their knees” to avoid pregnancy.

Former President Donald Trump was a fan of Friess.

Foster echoed Trump's Islamophobic sentiments in 2016, telling CNBC that Muslim people "have a different kind of worldview" and "would prefer to have the Quran be the dominant guiding force for our country" after Trump suggested a Muslim judge would be biased.
