, Calif. (AP) — The mayor of San Jose said on Wednesday that several people
were being treated for injuries after police
and sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting
at a railyard.
The facility has been evacuated, according to Mayor Sam Liccardo, who tweeted that “the shooter is no longer a threat.”
He stated that the shooting "has resulted in the treatment of several people, but the situation is still being assessed."
The shooting happened next to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department and across a freeway from the airport at a light rail station.
Multiple requests for comment were not immediately responded to by a Valley Transportation Authority spokesperson.
