After speaking out about his "life-changing" top surgery earlier this year, Elliot Page
reached a new milestone on Monday.
The Oscar nominee, 34, captioned the poolside photo, "Trans bb's first swim trunks."
Page, who came out as transgender
in December, stated in a March cover story for Time that being trans isn't all about surgery, but that medical care has been "not only life changing but lifesaving" for him.

In an interview
with Oprah Winfrey
last month, the “Umbrella Academy” and “Juno” star said he chose to publicly discuss his surgery to emphasize how important access to trans health care
“Right now, there is such an attack
on trans health care, when there is already such a lack of access or trans people
who don’t even want to go to the doctor,” he explained.
Page stated that the smallest things have brought him the most joy since his transition.
“Getting out of the shower and the towel is around your waist and you're looking in the mirror and you're just like, 'There I am.' And I'm not having the panicked moment,” he said before breaking down in tears. “It's being able to touch my chest and feel comfortable in my body
for the — probably the first time.”
