After A 'crazy' Season, The Cast Of 'Saturday Night Live' Bids A Heartfelt Farewell.

The season finale of "Saturday Night Live" featured a one-of-a-kind cold open that brought the cast together to reflect on a wild year of COVID and strange politics.

“This year was crazy,” Aidy Bryant declared, “so crazy that it drove a lot of us crazy.” Cecily Strong agreed.

According to Bowen Yang, the cast progressed from "doing very strange shows at home to terrifying shows in person."

“This is the year we realized we’re more than just a cast; we’re a family,” Kate McKinnon, who was visibly emotional, said.

“And, like any true family, we're kind of sick of each other,” Bryant added.

Chris Rock, the first season's host, made a cameo appearance.

“Here’s how messed up the world was when I hosted, okay?” said Rock. “I wanted Kanye West to be the musical guest, and he couldn’t because he was running for president. Remember that? Also, the sitting president, who said COVID would disappear, got COVID the week I was here!”

In other political news, America saw an “election, an insurgency, and an insurgency’s denial,” according to Strong.

Pete Davidson expressed surprise that he had "made an entire season without testing positive — for COVID."
