's critically acclaimed series "Insecure
," Yvonne Orji
had her last table read for her character Molly.
During a Thursday appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live
," the actor and comedian
described her last table read as "sad."
“I think there were some thug tears shed,” she admitted.
She then joked that she and the show's creator and star, Issa Rae
, had set their sights on various props that they hoped to bring with them when the show officially ended.
Orji's new book
, "Bamboozled by Jesus: How God Tricked Me Into the Life of My Dreams," will be released later this month. Her first comedy
special, "Momma, I Made It!" premiered on HBO last year.
To the chagrin of the show's ardent fans, HBO announced in January that "Insecure" would be cancelled after the upcoming fifth season.
“We’re going out with a bang y’all,” Orji tweeted at the time of the announcement, adding, “Thanks for rocking with us!!”
On Thursday, Orji commemorated her final table read as Molly by posting a photo of the script for the final episode on Instagram
“The final episode Deng. This truly is goodbye,” she wrote in the caption of the post, adding that she would miss the “Insecure” cast.
Fans grappling with the reality that the stories of Rae, Molly, Tiffany (Amanda Seales), Lawrence (Jay Ellis), and Kelli (Natasha Rothwell) are coming to an end flocked to her post, prompting a slew of sad and crying-face emojis.
