When she met Hugh Grant
in a restaurant a few years ago, Drew Barrymore
gave him the most "bizarre" greeting.
The “Notting Hill” actor revealed how the “Charlie’s Angels” star “made out” with him for 10 minutes after they accidentally bumped into each other on Barrymore’s chat show on Thursday.
Grant was spotted by Barrymore in a New York
“I don’t think we’ve ever talked about this,” she said, adding, “I'd had a few drinks, and I walked in, and I ran into you, and instead of saying hello, I grabbed you by the collar, and I fully started kissing you.”
Grant smiled as he said, "Yes, I remember that."
“You've never greeted me that way before,” Barrymore said, adding, “and then you had a second thought, and you were like, 'You know, I'm not hating this.'"
“And then we flirted, and then we said, ‘OK, yeah, bye! See you soon.’”
Grant shared his version of events, saying, "It was really bizarre, and I was with some very nice but not drunk studio executives from L.A., and they were very surprised."
“Someone said, ‘Oh, there’s Drew Barrymore.’ I got up to say hello, and then we made out for 10 minutes, and then I sat down again, and we went and talked about the script,” he explained.
“Well, I guess we’ve matured a little,” added Barrymore, who later co-starred with Grant in the film “Music
During the interview, Barrymore reminded Grant that she had sent him a letter of support in 1995, before they had even met, when his misdemeanors were front-page news
“Oh my god, you did, you were so nice!” Grant recalled. “It was during the dark days of my Divine Brown scandal, and I was just an idiot, a grown-up idiot who got caught by the police
