Rep. Tim Ryan
(D-Ohio) has had it with Republican House
members who have slammed a proposed bipartisan commission
to investigate the Jan. 6 attack
on the United States Capitol by pro-Trump insurrectionists.
Ryan chastised those who voted against the commission after thanking those in the GOP
who supported it. 35 Republicans
eventually broke ranks and voted in favor of the commission.
“Holy cow! Incoherence! I have no idea what you're talking about,” Ryan exclaimed, his voice rising in anger as he pointed to the most obvious and glaring hypocrisy: the never-ending Republican-led investigations into former Secretary of State
“Benghazi!” he exclaimed, “you chased the former secretary of state all over the country and spent millions of dollars.”
“We have people
scaling the Capitol and hitting Capitol Police
with lead pipes across the head, and we can't get bipartisanship? What else has to happen in this country?” Cops! This is a slap in the face to every rank-and-file cop in the United States.

Although the bill passed the House by a vote of 252-175, it now faces a filibuster in the Senate
, where Minority Leader Mitch McConnell
(R-Ky.) is among those who oppose it.
