'Google It!': Stephen Colbert Makes Fun Of Jim Jordan's Past

Stephen Colbert slammed House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as a "complete tool" for attempting to stack the committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the United States Capitol with figures who have spread misinformation about both the insurgency and the 2020 election, including Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

“Jim Jordan is an expert on the causes of Jan. 6th because he helped cause Jan. 6th,” Colbert said, noting that Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) reportedly said as much during the attack.

According to the new book, "I Alone Can Fix It," Cheney told Jordan, "you fucking did this."

Adding Jordan to the committee would be "like if 'Silence of the Lambs' ended with deputizing Buffalo Bill," according to Colbert.

Jordan and Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) were both rejected by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who said their inclusion would jeopardize the committee's integrity.

Colbert was on board.

“They’re two potential suspects, and Nancy Pelosi can’t just turn a blind eye,” he said. “She’s not Jim Jordan in the Ohio State showers.”

He added, "Google it!" as the audience applauded.

Jordan's history as an assistant coach at the university was referenced in the crack, where he was accused of ignoring molestation allegations against the wrestling team's doctor, which Jordan denied, but several athletes corroborated the story.
