Republican anti-vaccine rhetoric, according to conservative pundit S.E. Cupp, is literally shrinking their voter base, resulting in unnecessary COVID-19
infections and deaths
have increasingly allowed conspiracy theories
arguments to infect the party, and party politics
to influence health
,” she said on CNN
Cupp chastised the party for its "crazy reaction to the pandemic
“From anti-maskers to anti-vaxxers, the politicization of science
and health safety has unquestionably cost lives,” she said, adding that it has also made us stupider and more vulnerable to misinformation
She claims that right-wing figures are being forced to double and triple down on lies
in order to keep the voters
they've manipulated happy.
“Eventually, telling the truth about science and health becomes apostasy, treasonous, proof you are a sellout,” she added.
“It shouldn’t be political, but Republicans are ultimately doing more to shrink their base than to grow it, in more ways than one. It’s bad politics, but it’s also bad.”
