ring discovered at the bottom of a Florida
spring by a 10-year-old swimmer was returned to its owner after a social media
Livia Harrison, a 10-year-old from Boston
, was visiting Florida when she noticed something under the water
Blue Spring State Park.
"I found a ring in a rock
. It was like, stuck and jammed in there, so I just grabbed it," Harrison explained to WCTV. "I tried to get back to where my mom was so I wouldn't lose it, and then I got back to her and she just put it on her Facebook
The Facebook post was shared hundreds of times, and it caught the attention of a man who works with Gabriel Lindquist, a Thomasville, Fla., man who had just returned from a trip to the park with his family
"I mentioned that my ring had gone missing, and he just happened to go on Facebook, and while on Facebook, was scrolling through and noticed that somebody had a picture of a ring and was like, 'what are the chances?'" Lindquist said of his coworker.
was able to describe the inscription inside the ring to Harrison's mother, and the precious item was returned to its owner's finger.
"I'm very grateful that someone is honest enough to try to return something special," Lindquist said.
