The World's Heaviest Cherry Is Grown By Italian Brothers.

When a cherry grown on their farm weighed in at 1.16 ounces, a pair of Italian brothers set a Guinness World Record.

Alberto and Giuseppe Rosso, from Pecetto Torinese, grew the Carmen cherry on their family farm.

The Rossos claimed that their family has been growing cherries for over a century.

"We've noticed for a few years now that our Carmen cherries are Guinness world records in size, and this year we decided to do things right and called a panel of experts," Alberto Rosso told la Repubblica.

The weight of the cherry was confirmed by Italy's National Institute of Metrological Research, enough to break the previous record of.93 ounces set in February by a cherry grown in Italy.
