is an excellent basketball
player, but not so much when it comes to using a phone.
That message was sent to the Hall of Fame
basketball legend by his co-hosts on TNT's "Inside the NBA
" Sunday night.
On Sunday's broadcast, Ernie Johnson was attempting to make a point when strange audio from Barkley's direction disrupted his train of thought.
Although Barkley, 58, admitted the sound was coming from his phone, he was unable to silence it despite repeatedly tapping the screen and apologizing profusely.
Johnson was forced to take charge of the situation himself.
He rose from his seat, walked over to Barkley, and calmly took the phone from the hoop star and hid it from him to avoid further disruptions.

Barkley admitted to being distracted and stated that he was attempting to find out what ESPN NHL analyst Barry Melrose thought about the Tampa Bay Lightning returning to the Stanley Cup
His co-hosts accepted his apologies and told him he could have his phone back when the show finished in 25 minutes.
