On Wednesday, CNN
's Jim Acosta
asked Donald Trump
if he would apologize for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot
, but was booed by the former president's supporters.
When Acosta asked the question, Trump was in Weslaco, Texas
, with Gov. Greg Abbott
(R), ostensibly to discuss border
issues (but really to spread more misinformation
about the 2020 presidential election
Acosta's question was timely, given that the House
had just voted to establish a select committee
to investigate the attack
However, this did not imply that Trump would bother to respond to it.
Instead, he smirked at Acosta and gave him a thumbs up as his supporters booed him for asking the question.

noticed a pattern in how relentlessly Acosta pursued Trump during his presidency.
Trump is at the border, and Jim Acosta is being booed as he asks him questions. What year is it? https://t.co/h6X3HJKB1Z
