Rep. Matt Gaetz
(R-FL) was turned into a cartoon character by Stephen Colbert
on Tuesday night, and not in a good way.
The “Late Show” host claimed that the Republican Party
’s “crème de la crazy” were vying to be appointed to a panel investigating the Jan. 6 insurgency to “gum up the works,” including QAnon
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene
“I, for one, can't wait until she presents her theory that the halls of Congress
were actually soiled by Jewish
poop lasers,” Colbert joked, referencing one of the bizarre conspiracy
theories she's espoused.
But then Colbert turned to Gaetz, whom he likened to Jimmy Neutron:

Gaetz is currently under investigation
in a federal sex trafficking
investigation into whether he and others paid for sex at drug-fueled parties, including with a 17-year-old girl, but he is interested in joining the Jan. 6 commission
, according to Politico
“As usual, he demonstrated his interest by offering to drive the commission home from band practice,” Colbert explained.
