Tim Tebow's Time As A Jacksonville Jaguar Appears To Be Coming To An End.

Tim Tebow might not want to get too comfortable in his Jacksonville Jaguars jersey.

In an interview with USA Today's "Sports Seriously" published Thursday, coach Urban Meyer appeared to dampen expectations that Tebow would make his NFL comeback with the team. (Watch the interview below.)

Meyer previously stated that ex-quarterback Tebow was doing a "decent" job of learning his new tight end position, which host Mackenzie Salmon brought up.

Tebow signed a one-year contract with the New York Jets in May, nine years after his last game with the team, and the move reunited him with Meyer, under whom he won a Heisman Trophy while at the University of Florida.

When Salmon asked Meyer what Tebow needed to do to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster, Meyer replied that Tebow is one of 90 guys competing for a spot.

“The last thing you said is the difficult part: there are 53,” Meyer explained, “and that’s new to me. That’s the reality of the NFL.”

“The reality is that a significant portion of your roster will be cut or transitioned out of here,” he said.

Perhaps Tebow can give baseball another try.
