In an interview
with USA Today's "Sports
Seriously" published Thursday, coach Urban Meyer
appeared to dampen expectations that Tebow would make his NFL
comeback with the team. (Watch

Meyer previously stated that ex-quarterback Tebow was doing a "decent" job of learning his new tight end position, which host Mackenzie Salmon brought up.
Tebow signed a one-year contract with the New York
Jets in May, nine years after his last game with the team, and the move reunited him with Meyer, under whom he won a Heisman Trophy while at the University
When Salmon asked Meyer what Tebow needed to do to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster, Meyer replied that Tebow is one of 90 guys competing for a spot.
“The last thing you said is the difficult part: there are 53,” Meyer explained, “and that’s new to me. That’s the reality of the NFL.”
“The reality is that a significant portion of your roster will be cut or transitioned out of here,” he said.
