A Chunk Of Flying Metal Nearly Hits Two TV Reporters

A flying metal chunk came perilously close to hitting a local TV news crew in New York's Upper East Side early Thursday.

A dramatic video shows FOX 5 NY reporter Reagen Medgie and camera operator Paul Barnathan dodging airborne debris as they prepare to go live for the show "Good Morning New York."

Following a warning from fellow Fox cameraman Tim Daughtry, the pair avoided the projectile.

“This would have been a much different story if I hadn't listened to Tim and gotten out of the way,” Medgie later reflected on the near-miss.

The metal was thrown from a passing truck that appeared to collide with something on the road, leaving a half-inch hole in the sidewalk.

The whole thing took less than a second.
