Marjorie Taylor Greene Applauds Anti-Vaccination NFL Players And Takes A Hard Hit

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) praised NFL players who refuse to be vaccinated against the coronavirus on Wednesday, following in the footsteps of right-wingers.

“Shoutout to the brave @NFL players who are standing firm in their workplace, refusing to take the #COVID19 vaccine that is NOT FDA approved,” she wrote. “Athletes are not in the risk group and should not be discriminated against for trusting their immune systems.”

Although no coronavirus vaccine has received full FDA approval, several have emergency use authorizations, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all adults get vaccinated.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold and Buffalo Bills receiver Cole Beasley are among the players who have stated that they have not been immunized.

Beasley's defiant tone in opposing continued restrictions on unvaccinated players sparked much consternation, and he suggested in a lengthy post that he would build immunity on his own by eating better and drinking more water.

“I'm not going to take meds for a broken leg,” he said, adding, “I might die of COVID, but I'd rather die actually living.”

According to The Washington Post, more than half of NFL players have received at least one shot, with the Colts, Jaguars, Cardinals, and Chargers having the lowest vaccination rates.

Greene, a well-known conspiracy theorist who wants Dr. Anthony Fauci to resign from his position in the Biden administration, was slammed on Twitter.

You have an unusual definition of bravery. Putting one's own health and the health of teammates, coaches, and staff at risk is selfish. — Susan Szilagyi (@susanszil) June 24, 2021

The NFL and NFLPA are encouraging, but not requiring, players to be vaccinated. If they choose not to be vaccinated, they will be required to follow covid protocols. There is no controversy here. You got nothing pic.twitter.com/eAhCQWvHVl — New York Strong Pass HR1 (@MshellButtercup) June 24, 2021

I'm sure their owners are ecstatic. It's not like millions of dollars are on the line or anything. — LIFO the Party (@e_a_z_y_E_1) June 24, 2021

Absolutely, as we have seen how well your immune system works against Polio, Small Pox, and other diseases. — Mike Griffin (@MikeGri76354586) June 24, 2021

Imagine having to fight this hard to avoid a doctor's advice to get vaccinated. — Dean Auker (@AukerDean) June 24, 2021

Yeah! And don't forget those brave #NFL players who are standing, err, kneeling, their ground in their workplace to bring attention to other societal issues. These athletes should not face discrimination for exercising their first amendment rights. — Mr. M (@MrMiller23) June 24, 2021

It's funny how some people eat hot dogs and bologna their entire lives but refuse the vaccine because they don't know what's in it — oil, gas, and chemicals (@ChemicalsOil) June 24, 2021

It has emergency FDA approval and volumes of data demonstrating its effectiveness, numbnuts — reason not religion (@imagnoreligion) June 24, 2021
