Whoopi Goldberg Finally Tells Meghan McCain What She Really Thinks Of Her

On Thursday, Whoopi Goldberg, the show's long-suffering moderator, finally let the show's lone conservative, Meghan McCain, have it during a heated debate about President Joe Biden.

The two sparred over Biden's remark to CNN's Kaitlan Collins on why he was confident that Russian President Vladimir Putin would improve his behavior on Wednesday. "What the hell... what do you do all the time? When did I say I was confident?" Biden retorted.

McCain described Biden's treatment of Collins as "100% Trumpy," adding, "Just because Trump was so bad doesn't excuse Biden's bad behavior."

“It is not in anyone’s best interests to continue to treat him as if he were on state television,” she added.

Goldberg emphasized that the president later apologized. “The thing that I never saw Trump do was apologize to anybody,” Goldberg said.

McCain retorted, "I don't care if he apologizes."

“I don’t care if you don’t care,” retorted Goldberg, who usually keeps her cool when it comes to McCain.

“I don't care that you don't care, Whoopi, so we're even,” a petulant McCain responded.

Before cutting away to a commercial, Goldberg said, "Good, Meghan, then you can be yourself."

Following the break, the two exchanged heartfelt apologies.

“I want to apologize because I was rude; I didn’t need to say what I said, and I apologize because that’s not how I want to behave at work,” Goldberg said.

“Well, I apologize as well, Whoopi,” McCain responded.

Goldberg said, "Cool."
