What You Need To Know About H.E.R., Migos, DaBaby, And Other Performers At The 2021 BET Awards

The performance lineup for the 2021 BET Awards, which will air on June 27, has just been released, and it does not disappoint.

The show, which recognizes Black achievement in entertainment, music, television, movies, sports, and other fields, has announced the following performers for this year's show: Andra Day, City Girls, DaBaby, DJ Khaled, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, Kirk Franklin, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Migos, Moneybagg Yo, Rapsody, Roddy Ricch, and Tyler the Creator.

The show will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. EST, and will be hosted by “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson. Queen Latifah will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award this year.

Latifah will be the third-youngest solo artist to receive the honor, following Whitney Houston, who was 37 when she received it at the first BET Awards in 2001, and Mary J. Blige, who was 48 when she received it in 2019.

In a press release, Connie Orlando, executive vice president of specials, music programming, and music strategy at BET Networks, said, ′′[This] year's show marks many firsts — including the highest number of performers in the 21-year history of the BET Awards — and viewers can expect several surprise moments.”

Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby led the nominations list this year, with seven each, and it wouldn't be surprising if the former, who is nominated for Album of the Year, Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and Video of the Year, swept the BET Awards given the accolades she's received this year.

Following the success of her 2020 singles "WAP" and "Savage (Remix)," she received three Grammy Awards earlier this year for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best New Artist, as well as a Billboard Music Award, an iHeartRadio Music Award, and two NAACP Image Awards.

Cardi B and Drake received five nominations each, while Anderson.Paak, Bruno Mars, Chloe x Halle, and Chris Brown received four each.

We can't wait to find out who wins on June 27th.
