Federal Employees Will Be Excused From Work On Juneteenth.

After President Joe Biden signs the new law on Thursday, federal employees will have Friday off to observe Juneteenth.

On Twitter, the Office of Personnel Management confirmed that the law establishing June 19 as a federal holiday will go into effect immediately.

“Today, @POTUS will sign the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, establishing June 19th as a federal holiday,” the agency tweeted. “Because June 19th falls on a Saturday, most federal employees will observe the holiday tomorrow, June 18th,” the agency tweeted.
