Lisa Banes, Star Of 'Gone Girl,' Died As A Result Of Injuries Sustained In A Hit-and-run Scooter Accident.


Lisa Banes, 65, died after being hit by a scooter earlier this month in New York City.

Following the hit-and-run on June 4, the actor from "Gone Girl" was taken to the hospital with a traumatic brain injury.

The actress's rep confirmed her death on Monday, telling Entertainment Tonight, "We are heartbroken over Lisa's tragic and senseless passing. She was a woman of great spirit, kindness, and generosity, dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera, and especially to her wife, family, and friends."

“We consider ourselves fortunate to have had her in our lives.”

Following the incident, no arrests have yet been made.

Banes' friend and singer Jill Sobule reacted to the news by tweeting photos of the two together:

The actor was on her way to meet her wife, Kathryn Kranhol, when she was hit by a scooter while crossing the street.

The scooter's driver fled the scene and is being sought by the NYPD.

Banes is best known for her role as Maybeth Elliott in 2014's "Gone Girl," in which she co-starred with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, as well as her co-starring role in 1988's "Cocktail," in which she co-starred with Tom Cruise. She's also appeared on TV shows such as "Nashville," "The Orville," "Masters Of Sex," and "Royal Pains."
