Production on the highly anticipated, Samantha-free revival of "Sex and the City
" has begun just days after a slew of casting confirmations.
Sarah Jessica Parker
posted a series of photos
from the set of "And Just Like That..." to her social media
platforms this week, which were noticeably lacking in details but sparked plenty of interest among "SATC" fans
Parker returned to the front door of the New York
brownstone where her character, Carrie Bradshaw, lived throughout all six seasons of “Sex and the City” and its two feature films on Thursday.
“I’m thrilled and terrified,” she wrote, referring to writer/director Michael Patrick King.

It was only a few days ago that it was announced that actors
Mario Cantone, Willie Garson, David Eigenberg, and Evan Handler would reprise their roles in the revival, which is set to air on HBO Max
And, despite reports that Noth would not be reprising his role as Carrie's main squeeze Mr. Big, the actor's participation in the film was confirmed last month.
Any mention of Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, was conspicuously absent from Parker's images, as Cattrall declined to participate in a third "Sex and the City" film in 2017 amid a flurry of reports about a behind-the-scenes feud with Parker.
While speaking with Piers Morgan
after announcing her departure, Cattrall suggested that her role be recast with an actor of color. While Samantha will not be a part of “And Just Like That...,” the show’s creators appear to have taken Cattrall’s advice in part by adding Sara Ramrez as a series regular.
Che Diaz, a queer, nonbinary comedian
and podcast host, will be portrayed by the actor, whose credits include "Grey's Anatomy."
