On Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel found the ideal outlet for his long-running feud with Matt Damon
in Tom Hiddleston
The "Loki" star was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live
" to promote his highly anticipated Disney
+ series, and Kimmel couldn't help but mention his "Ford v Ferrari" adversary.
Damon appeared in "Thor: Ragnarok
" in 2017 as Hiddleston's beloved Marvel
character Loki in a play within a play that parodied "Thor: The Dark World."
Damon is set to reprise his role as Loki in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok."
Kimmel asked Hiddleston Wednesday night, "Were you disappointed when you found out [Damon] would be playing your character?"
“Loki, as we all know, contains a plethora of people
, including Matt Damon, even in that suit,” Hiddleston replied.
Hiddleston then added, in response to Kimmel's mock disdain for Damon, "It's kind of like Matt's trying to bump me from my own character."
“Yes, he's constantly taking things that don't belong to him and trying to get into places where he's not welcome,” Kimmel replied.
That's when Hiddleston delivered the ideal retaliation for Damon's co-opting of his role.
“All I can say is, maybe, in another reality, there’s another Jason Bourne
who might show up around the corner the next time there’s a new Jason Bourne film,” Hiddleston said.
Hiddleston's vengeance plan could be a reference to his Marvel Cinematic Universe character Loki's ability to shape-shift — and if so, here's hoping Loki can take some time out of his very busy trickster schedule to transform into President Joe Biden
and zhush him up a bit for the G-7
summit in the United Kingdom
