(AP) — Several websites were down Tuesday as a result of what appeared to be a widespread outage at Fastly
, a cloud service provider.
Dozens of popular websites, including the New York Times
, Twitch, and the home page of the United Kingdom
's government, were unavailable.
Fastly, based in San Francisco
, acknowledged a problem shortly before 1000 GMT and stated that it was “continuing to investigate the issue” in multiple updates on its website.
Visitors who attempted to access CNN.com received the following message: “Fastly error: unknown domain: cnn.com.”
According to Down Detector, which monitors internet outages, “reports indicate that there may be a widespread outage at Fastly, which may be impacting your service.”
