and Kanye West
had been in the works for months before it was announced earlier this year, according to new clips from an episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians
The KKW Beauty founder sobbed in an episode that aired on Thursday while on a family trip to Lake Tahoe. In the episode, filmed in November 2020, younger sister Khloe Kardashian tells the camera about her sister's relationship struggles.
“It’s difficult because Kim is clearly redirecting so much of her frustration, sadness, and anger,” Khloe explains after a scene in which Kim lashes out over cookies left on the kitchen counter. “Sometimes you just take things out on something that has nothing to do with what you’re going through.”
In another scene, Khloe confronts Kim about her seven-year marriage to West.
“There’s no fighting; everything is calm now, so I just roll with it,” Kim responds.
In another scene, Khloe confesses that Kim and Kanye had a "big fight" before the Lake Tahoe trip, and a flashback video shows Kim sobbing and telling her sisters Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie about what's been going on with West.
Kim says during her breakdown that West deserves someone who can "follow his every move."
“He should have a wife who supports his every move, travels with him, and does everything, and I can’t. I feel like a f––king failure and it’s like my third f––king marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f––king loser
,” she says through tears, adding, presumably in reference to divorce, “But I can’t even think about that. I want to be happy.”
In a confessional, Khloe continues, "Kim is trying to protect their union at all costs, but it's difficult when you bear
that responsibility on your shoulders."
“All I want is for her to take care of herself,” says the founder of Good American.
Kim filed for divorce from West in February, with whom she has four children
: daughters North, 7, and Chicago
, 3; and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 2. In April
, the couple agreed that their marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences, and they agreed to no spousal support.
