The power of Bennifer
2.0 is truly limitless, like some kind of celebrity black hole sucking all of the shared couple's exes into its vortex.
First, Jennifer Lopez
's ex-husband Sean "Diddy
" Combs chose chaos by posting a throwback photo of the one-time couple shortly after her rekindled romance with Ben Affleck
, and then the singer was spotted having coffee with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Now, Gwyneth Paltrow
, who dated the actor in the late 1990s, has been drawn into the mess by an unexpected source.
Earlier this week, a daring social media
manager (or perhaps Paltrow herself) shared a throwback photo of the former couple on Goop's official Instagram
account, showing Paltrow rolling her eyes while Affleck leans in close to whisper something in her ear — a perfect image for meme material.
Naturally, Paltrow was labeled “gemini szn,” while Affleck was labeled “mercury in retrograde,” and the image was captioned “Tis the season.”
This post was shared by goop (@goop) on Instagram.
Paltrow has since commented, seemingly embarrassed, saying, "Oh my god you guys."
The two actors
, who met at a dinner hosted by disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein
, dated from 1997 to 2000 and co-starred in two films, "Shakespeare In Love" and "Bounce."
Following their split, Affleck fell in love with Lopez, and Paltrow married Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, with whom she has two children
After calling it quits with Lopez in 2004, Affleck married and had three children with his "Daredevil" co-star Jennifer Garner
Years later, Paltrow said she and Affleck, who she once described as having a "very different sort of value system," have managed to stay friendly.
“I think there are certain boyfriends where you're trying to work
stuff out, right? Like, you're trying to heal certain stuff from your childhood and he was very much a lesson in that way,” she said on “The Howard Stern
Show” in 2018. “I'm not sure exactly what I was trying to heal in that instance, but it was... he was, ya know, it was specific.”
Affleck and Lopez's second marriage appears to be taking off.
Onlookers described the ex-couple's behavior as "very affectionate" as they were seen with their arms around each other during a PDA-heavy dinner date on Monday night.
While neither has officially confirmed that their romance is back on, the two have been spending time together on a regular basis, most recently shacking up in a Miami
mansion following a much-discussed Montana
According to an unnamed People
source, Affleck and Lopez are "slowly starting to talk about the future." The couple is "very happy together," according to the source.
“This is not a casual relationship,” according to the source, “they are taking it seriously and want it to last.”
If that's the case, keep an eye on Chris Judd because we're going to hear from all of their ex-wives before this thing is over.
