Jesse Jackson Warns Voters About Republican Intentions: "No One Should Be Fooled"

“Just say no. That seems to sum up the position of Republicans in Congress these days,” civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson began his column in the Chicago Sun-Times on Monday, criticizing elected GOP officials.

“The scope of what they won’t do is breathtaking,” Jackson said, noting that the majority of Republicans were opposed to nearly every Democratic proposal — even when there was overwhelming support for the issue, such as the demand for sensible gun control laws.

Later, Jackson warned people not to fall for the GOP's attempts to rewrite history.

“Of course, when they run for re-election, Republicans will claim credit for Biden’s American Rescue Plan, which was passed without a single Republican vote,” he added.

“No one should be duped,” Jackson concluded. “At a time when America is facing a cascade of crises, Republicans simply say no; if we want to even begin to address the problems we face, voters will have to say no to those who are impeding progress.”
