, the former governor
of South Carolina
, attempted to score cheap political points against Vice President Kamala Harris
this weekend, only to be called out for her own hypocrisy.
It all began on Saturday, when Vice President Mike Pence
tweeted, "Enjoy the long weekend."
Have a wonderful long weekend. pic.twitter.com/ilGOrod4AW — Vice President Kamala Harris (@VP) May 29, 2021
were outraged by the seemingly harmless tweet because it failed to mention the reason for the holiday weekend: Memorial Day
According to Fox News
, Harris' tweet became a point of contention for those who felt the president was not honoring veterans
Haley was one of them, labeling Harris as "unprofessional and unfit."

But then came that tweet, and everything went downhill from there.
Harris paid tribute to the troops and Memorial Day on Sunday with a tweet.
Our service men and women
have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country throughout our history, and as we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and sacrifice. — Vice President Kamala Harris (@VP) May 30, 2021
On Monday, Haley sent her own performative Memorial Day tweet about the troops, but then wrote a holiday post about spending time with her son, which some might consider enjoying a long weekend with him.

Many Twitter users accused her of hypocrisy, which was unsurprising.
Unfit and inappropriate. You should be mourning fallen soldiers rather than enjoying your day, isn't that what you tweeted to @VP? https://t.co/pv03iEOGYQ

Memorial Day, according to you, is only for thanking fallen servicemembers and their families, not for being thankful for a long weekend with family, which you criticized our @vp for just yesterday — KnowYourObama (@KnowYourObama) May 31, 2021
Oh, you mean it's fine to celebrate what YOU want, but not what the VP wants? Got it. HYPOCRITE — sharonwhotweets (@sharonwhotweets) May 31, 2021

What does he have to do with Memorial Day, other than the fact that your privilege ensures he will never have to die in some shanty ditch 7000 miles from home? Your politicizing this day to score cheap points at the expense of Harris' innocent greeting renders you unfit to utter the sentiment. https://t.co/67Pf0CZv4x

I'd be devastated if my mother was a hypocrite. https://t.co/i0vIl9RwxY

However, instead of directly attacking Haley, one Twitter user chose to close the circle.
